From “Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind” Takeya Style Jizai Okimono welcomes a figure of a Torumekian Armored Troop!
“Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind” was created first as manga by Hayao Miyazaki before he himself animated which helped it become a masterpiece know world wide. The Torumekian armor that symbolizes their strength with its sturdiness and is seen on the bodyguards of the Torumekian leader Kushana, who suddenly invades the valley where Nausicaa lives, is taken and made into an action figure of the Takeya Style Jizai Okimono line.
While the design is not quite expected from western style armor, it includes ceramic in the material for heavy armor with redesign by Takayuki Takeya. Ideas and designs expressed in not only the animated film but the original comic as well are incorporated to maintain a feel of realism like it is an actual suit of armor.
Each part has decorative detail and the shape expressed with particular care as the sculptor works to make is worthy of the dignified bodyguard wearing it.
How the Torumekian soldier’s armor characteristically appears somewhat staggering yet has sturdy enough proportions to deflect enemy attacks is well recreated.
Plenty of attention is given the movements as well. For the connections of the multilayered armor it is skillfully divided and joints inserted so even scenes with widely swinging weapons like seen in the film can be used for a pose.
A large sword strapped to the waist, battle ax, and large shield are included as well allowing the various battle scenes from both the Anime and original comic to be recreated.
