The totems were created to seal these entities away by a mysterious society dating back to the early 1800s. A totem alone cannot secure a malevolent spirit, however. The base of the totem must also have the spirit's design scribed on the base.
Don't worry, they won't be able to hurt you! They're sealed away in the form you see now, so you're well protected. Are you brave enough to hunt down all the totems and uncover their mysteries? Remember, once you have them with you, it's forever.
